Soup

Well, Kade likes to create. So today he created for me a vegetable soup. He used every veggie we have in the fridge. So this soup has carrot, potato, beet, onion, garlic and rice. Cook for a bit and whatcha know...it's tasty. I added a touch of chili powder to add some heat and some salt and pepper. Kai and Jeff joined in the feast with me. Alas, Kade "hates" vegetables, so we were extra happy for his gift of love.

  1. Isn't it neat when they cook? Chloe makes us homemade vegetable soup with some regularity. She has a secret ingredient that makes her soups really wonderful. (I know she won't mind if I supply a clue: it's a powder that starts with c and ends with y.)

  2. That's so cool and sounds kind of tasty actually. It reminds of how some say kids are drawn to some types of imaginary play (perhaps scary, or violent themed etc.) to work out their fears and have control of the situation. Perhaps Kade needs to control the evil veggies and conquer his fear! :)

  3. I've always loved it when the kids cook. And you just can't go wrong with soup! Just don't ask Broc to make you waffles....he thought there was Bisquick in the flour container so we recently tried to eat some of his specialty FLOUR-WATER Waffles. YUM..:-)

  5. Sounds really yummy and totally seasonal! I made beets tonite and Scott, my uber-limited veggie eating hubby, ate them and liked them. He has eaten them in the past, so it wasn't totally new. Glad Kade is turning over a new leaf.

  6. It's gone! Maybe next time...

We have so been where Broc went :). Mostly me, though, not the boys...
